Our Methods and Strategy
Our formal methods statement
"Our strategy is to work with City staff to reduce or eliminate barriers
and perceived barriers to non-motorized transportation."
Adopted at the meeting of the Committee on April 25, 2004
Some Additional Details
The scope of the work of the WLBPC has meant that it works with members of the staff
(and sometimes public officials) of many other agencies besides simply West Lafayette.
This includes the county Highways Department, Purdue Facilities Planning, Purdue Police Department,
Lafayette City Engineer, INDOT, the Area Plan Commission, City Bus, and the Wabash River Enhancement Corporation.
This is because each of these agencies influences what happens in West Lafayette and how those using
non-motorized transportation get into and out of West Lafayette.
In addition to working with the staff of those government agencies and public organizations, the WLBPC also partners
with a number of non-government organizations when there is an overlap in missions.
